Mary could cross oceans, climb mountains, venture into dark forests to find a place to build a house. She could build a strong and solid dwelling. She could make it safe from the elements and cosy inside. She could bake comfort foods and keep the fire glowing and put flowers on the mantel. Still she was restless, vagrant, (footloose). Instead Mary looks at his face in the moments before he wakes and imagines asking him to be her home.
