All that escapes.

At 4.05 pm every day Janine would strap on her school sports shoes and run. Run before her parents got home. She would run for half an hour, as fast as she could, to the motor mechanics shop on Hobart Street and back. The run to the motor mechanics shop was all uphill, the run back all downhill. You wouldnt think it, but some days running downhill was harder than running uphill.

Janine did not flatter herself with dreams of winning races or running marathons in exotic lands. Janine knew deep-down (right down to her feet) simply that running was probably a handy skill to have.
