She�d wander past his desk and tilt her head asking if he wanted a cup of tea. He�d shake his head no, not now. On Friday afternoon she�d invite him down the pub with the gang from the second floor. He�d text her quickly that he was busy. She�d send him gently teasing emails. He�d reply he had a deadline.

He�d wake in the middle of the night and his hand would find the cold side of the bed. He didn�t know the beginning was learning how to wink.
