Personal pronouns.

�I love you,� says Tom.
�And I love you,� says Ursula and quietly hangs up the phone.

Tom sits and listens to the beep beep beep coming through the line and tries to think she loves me. The smallest words in the English language are the most difficult to understand. He avoids using the word me aloud, it always sounds to him that he�s made some rather obscene statement, causing a reverberating silence to implode the conversation whenever grammar can not be subverted. The world is crowded with objects, but Tom finds no comfort in subjects.
