Perkin's Paste.

On Fridays Miss Gibson always allowed an hour�s free time to make art. Most of the six year-olds liked to stick dried pasta to cardboard and express themselves with glitter and felt tip pens. They hung their masterpieces from the door and the windows and the walls and the cupboards.

Katie would sit quietly with her beautiful fuscia pink tub of Perkin's Paste, stirring the viscous white glue with the paddle attached to the lid. Katie did not have anything to hang in the schoolroom gallery, but she would remember the sensation of the Perkin's Paste swirling endlessly in the pot and smile to herself.
