Message in a bottle.

In the last two years Ella has read 87 books by sitting on the floor in stores up and down Oxford Street. She�s never bought a book nor joined a library. She likes the smell of new books, always selecting a fresh copy before she hides in the history or self help or business studies sections to continue a book she has started.

With the skill of an international spy she fools the staff and the cctv with different clothes and hats and hairstyles and ensures there is absolutely no routine to her visiting times. Sometimes, just sometimes, Ella leaves a little post-it note inside a book, with the page and line reference to her favourite words. This little yellow piece of paper, coveted and secreted, has made her the imaginary friend of more than she will ever know.
